I saw a TV show about this and was SO SO SO surprised that some banks haven’t signed up to the anti-fraud consumer protection – amazes me that they are allowed to operate, let alone don’t have to inform you if you open an account with them. This post is SO SO SO needed as it is terrible how much this is on the rise and people get caught out because the scams are getting clever. I can’t stand having all these bank apps on my phone…but you are kinda forced to have them now…

Sorry to hear that, Jenny. I was scammed myself a few years ago by a fraudster on eBay. Even those who think of themselves as financially savvy can be taken in. I agree, it’s so important to be careful and double-check everything before parting with any personal info.
